Shanti Mai - Intuitive Reading

A: If you’re confused, you can expect more clarity about who you are and where you’re going. An intuitive reading can help you find your true work, have communication with pets, develop and confirm your own intuition, shed light on health concerns, and help bring health and balance to your relationships.

A: Literally “clear hearing” and “clear knowing”, without the overlay of expectations or attachments of any sort. Most people have heard of clairvoyance, of psychic or inner sight. Seeing visions. That happens to me occasionally, where I’ll see what somebody looks like or will see a symbol.

More often, I will suddenly Know the answer, feel it deeply in my body or will hear a phrase or a specific word and simply repeat it to the client. I am an empath,too - often I feel the client’s emotions, especially if they’re unaware, if they're blocking it.

Q: Why is a spiritual teacher doing intuitive reading?

A: You mean, “Why is a spiritual teacher including Intuitive Readings as part of her teaching?"

Intuitive reading is a phrase people know to search for when looking for clarity, for guidance. And that’s what a spiritual teacher is all about – providing guidance and clarity. My intuitive readings are not superficial predictions, make no mistake about that. If you don’t want to risk learning some deep self-awareness, don’t call me, as it could happen to you!

A: No. I can tell you what I sense as the strongest potential at the time of your appointment. You and others have decisions to make which can change the outcome. I can tell you what I feel to be your strongest need at that time.

Q: Previously you used the phase “What truth feels like”. What do you mean?

A: Like the taste of vanilla or the smell of a rose, truth is something you can learn to recognize when you have consciously experienced it. I teach my clients how to do that. Once you’re taught and have some experience practicing it, you have the opportunity to choose to support what’s true for you. It has the potential to be life-changing.

A: ASL is American Sign Language. I am a former ASL interpreter. I see Deaf clients in person and video phone sessions are available for Deaf clients who are not able to see me in person.

A: Intuitive Reading and Intuitive Counseling are ways that I can be available when a person is in the middle of change and most likely to be looking for and needing guidance. So it’s a perfect opportunity for learning - and teaching.

A: What happens in your session is strictly private. Never will your name or other information be used without your permission - or your issues discussed with any identifying information attached. I also often don’t remember what happened in a particular session. Remember, I’m not operating in a very linear way while I’m doing them!

A: No. Nowhere do I say anything about how "accurate" I am, as I am not doing predictive readings. I tell you what I sense, what I recommend, and you make your own decisions.

A: Not without their permission on a psychic or energetic level. In that case, it feels like a block when I approach them. Generally, we can proceed just dealing with you, in that situation, and that tends to be plenty!

I’ll only do this for friends or family who are concerned about the other person’s well-being – or their own well-being, if it’s a business situation and they’re concerned about whether the other person can be trusted.

A: Absolutely not! I honor my work and I honor you. I prefer clarity and “clean” energy! (I, too, generally don’t like people trying to sell me anything!)

A: Everything has an energy field. A sensitive person can learn to “read” the field of an object and know something about its owner. That’s called psychometry. If it's important to you, we can do that as part of a session if it's in person.

A: Not in most cases. Generally there is enough to learn about in the current situation - and that takes precedence. It happens, but rarely.

A young woman said she was flying to France and was afraid of flying. I did not engage with what she thought the problem was – the fear of flying, as I noticed that there was no energy when she stated her fear and I told her that. As soon as I said it, I knew that her fear involved her reason for flying and not the flight itself.

I asked her why she was flying to France. It was obvious as soon as she answered. “Uh, well, there’s this guy I’ve been dating...,” she said in an off-hand manner. But there was so much feeling betraying her answer!

She was flying across the world to be with a man she was referring to as “this guy”, as if it was something very casual. When I told her that the potential of a very serious relationship was what was frightening to her, she seemed amazed and said several times. "Do you think so?" before laughing and acknowledging that it was so.

I then asked her how she felt about the idea of flying. “It’s not a problem at all!” she said.

During a reading for a woman whose young baby had recently died, I had the impression that the baby was telling me to hand her mother the apple I had brought with me that day. I took the apple out and handed it to her, telling the grieving mother what I had sensed. She gasped and said that she and the infant had often done just that – passed apples back and forth, eating them together. It was confirmation for the child’s mother that the daughter still had a presence in her life.

Years ago, at a mini psychic fair, doing back-to-back 10 minute readings, I received an unexpected communication. “Do you have a cat?” I found myself asking the woman.

“Okay, here goes!” I thought. “Your cat is telling me to thank you for the present you bought for him recently.” Yes, she confirmed, they had just bought a gift for their pet.

That wasn’t all: “The cat also wants me to tell you thanks for letting it sleep on the blue fuzzy thing.”

I felt so silly saying that!

This communicative cat forced his way in, opening the way for me to do readings for other pets - - not just pets with pressing “Thank You”s!

A: I suppose it would depend on what you wanted to know... They wouldn’t be needing to make any decisions, so I’m not sure why they’d need one! I would love to do a reading for you, however, if you have unfinished business with someone who has passed, particularly if the passing has been in the past year or two. In that case, I feel the energy the same way that I do with those who are still in the body.

A: Absolutely! I can easily feel their feelings, have a sense of what they need, of what you can do for them (see Emotional Healing).
